Hydrangea Blue Lake Como Micro Wedding

Walking through the wooded peaks of Lake Como, you will find a floral miracle: the wild Sapphire hydrangea.

During our one-year honeymoon, Jack and I spent ten happy days in a small village on a mountain by Lake Como. We enjoyed aperitifs by the lake, lunch on our secret beach, trips to our favorite alimentari for plonk and meat and walks through the woods to and from beautiful Italian villas. During our hikes I found wild hydrangeas. If we press them to the street, they are now framed on our wall. A reminder that we will return to this most beautiful lake for too long.

So it was an instant yes when we received this devoted wedding on Lake Como in whimsical sapphire hydrangeas. If you are getting married in a classic Italian villa, the micro wedding of Helen and Jeremy will be as enchanting as possible. The stunning local hydrangeas were complemented by dusty sapphire decor and candles, a completely whimsical scene.

Dinner in the open air, cut an incredible imposing cake and then jump into your escape boat, it’s the happiness of the wedding on Lake Como.

Destination

I had gone to a wedding abroad and everyone was having the best time. We always liked the ambiance, the beauty, the food and the weather of Italy and when we saw Lake Como we thought it was the most beautiful place in the world!

We did a lot of research and when we found Aurora from weddings and events on Lake Como, we immediately thought that she was the right person for us. We are so happy about our decision to engage you to help us make the marriage our rêves…et what a dream came true! We had a great time and didn’t have to worry about every detail as Aurora was present at every step of the process to make sure things went as smoothly as possible.

We rented an awesome place, Villa Ortensia. It also has accommodation and we stayed there with our immediate family. It was so remote and had excellent facilities, including an outdoor pool.

We fell in love with Villa Ortensia and its surroundings, our “theme” was chic and romantic. I chose hydrangeas as the main flowers, as they are typical of Lake Como.

The dress and the outfit

I always dreamed of going to Milan for my wedding dress, and there I saw my “dream dress” at Daphne’s. When I put the dress on, I cried, that’s it!

Jeremy had a tailored suit from Savorani – it was a classic dark sapphire suit.

Favorite moment

When it was time to walk down the aisle and we exchanged that first look, it was pure magic. From the moment our wedding started, until the very last dance of the night, love was present in every moment and it really was the perfect day.

Reception

We had a traditional Italian four-course meal with bottles and bottles of white lugana and red Sangiovese, then a dessert buffet and an open bar. SunLake Catering provided all these services and was exceptional. The wedding cake was just delicious!

Photography and Videography

When we saw the photographs of Alessandro Colle, we immediately fell in love with his style – his photographs are pure art! We also had an extra treat with Francesco, who took the most breathtaking aerial shots of us on a Riva boat.
